Carla B. Neumann, MS, LMFT has provided Individual, Couple and Family Therapy to adults, children and adolescents in the Western Communities since 1994. Neumann believes that most people have the inner strengths and resources to deal with their life challenges and issues, but in moments of crisis, benefit from psychotherapy to learn to tap into their strengths and true potential. That's right, we often forget our strengths when life events become too much. Neumann helps clients look at solution attempts, evaluate their strengths and set goals and discover new solutions to move out of old thoughts, beliefs and patterns of behavior that keep clients stuck in emotional turmoil.

Neumann graduated with a Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University. Since that time she has worked as a Child Therapist with Foster Children, Clinical Director for Community Mental Health Non-Profit Agency, Program Director, Grant Writer, Project Developer, Founded a Non-profit that serves orphans and vulnerable youth in Kenya, Africa and currently treats clients in the private practice setting.

She specializes in helping couples recover from old soul wounds that inevitably get played out in current intimate relationships. Neumann also provides special treatment options for children and adults who struggle with PTSD, Depression and various anxiety disorders including OCD, Panic Attacks, Phobias and Generalized Anxiety Disorder. These treatment options include Hypnotherapy and EMDR. Stress management strategies and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is also part of her therapeutic modality. Services are offered by appointment only and most insurance plans are accepted, including an ability to pay fee scale for those who do not have insurance coverage.

 About Melissa:

As a busy mother, wife and   professional, I understand the importance of maintaining a healthy marriage   as the basis of one’s personal and family life. I also understand the   challenges as well. As a clinician, I work from a systemic perspective,   meaning that I work with the whole family (in some contexts) or with the   people involved with the "problem". I work from an empowerment   model with the goal of teaching my clients new ways of perceiving their   problem, as well as adopting healthier coping and communication skills so   they can make their desired changes. I believe the client is not the problem,   the problem is the problem, and we will work together to decrease any form of   anxiety and/or depression you have about the issue you are experiencing. I   feel all people need feedback and support throughout their lives and I   believe coming to counseling is a healthy, and positive way of empowering   yourself to change for the better. I am an oppression sensitive therapist. I   take into account my client's strengths, work from a mutual respect model,   and recognize that my client's gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class,   race, religion, and health, all impact how the client perceives and   experiences his/her issue. I have experience working with a multiplicity of   issues including: depression, physical abuse, sexual abuse, domestic   violence, marital/couple counseling, divorce & remarriage, child   behavioral problems, anxiety, trauma (PTSD), eating disorders, sexual   orientation/sexual identity development, and low self-esteem/assertiveness   training. I specialize in the treatment of couples and families.
